Our encounter with Jesus can
transform our life. In 1 Timothy 1:12 –
17, Paul recounted the time before his conversion – Paul was a blasphemer and a
persecutor and a violent man. In Paul’s
own words, he said he was “the worst of sinners”. Paul’s encounter with Jesus on the road to
Damascus completely changed him (See Acts 9 1 – 31). The grace of God was poured out on Paul
abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Paul then became
a faithful servant of God. Paul expressed
his gratitude by thanking God who strengthen him and for considering him
trustworthy and appointing him to his service in spite of Paul’s past.
Reflection:
God is rich in mercy. God's mercy
holds back the awful consequences that our ungodliness deserves. The grace of God is exceedingly abundant with
faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
Let us encounter Jesus again. He
will meet us where we are and in the state that we are in. Are we willing to open our hearts and life
completely to Jesus?
Prayer:
God, we thank you for holding
back the judgment that we deserve and thank you for giving us the abundant
grace and wonderful blessings that we do not deserve. We open our hearts and life to you, and we
allow you to mould us into the person you want us to be to serve You and
glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
